GitHub
Code repositories for projects, docs, and issues.
Integration features
Members will click “View Repository” on your portalry to launch GitHub. Use this checklist to give them a smooth landing every time.
Portalry recognises github.com/{owner}/{repo} links, including private repositories where metadata may not be available.
What Portalry handles for you
- Extracts repository name directly from the URL path (owner/repo).
- Uses a fixed "GitHub Repository" description so private repos still render cleanly.
- Shows a dedicated "View Repository" button for members.
Setup checklist
- Copy the repository URL (for example https://github.com/tobyberesford/portalry).
- Paste it into Portalry and verify the owner/repo name is shown correctly.
What still lives in the platform
- Portalry does not sync issues, pull requests, or commits from GitHub.
- Private repository access remains controlled by GitHub permissions.
Extras & best practices
- If you move or rename a repository, update the portal URL to avoid redirects.
