Substack
Email newsletters and publication hubs with comments and archives.
Integration features
Members will click “Read Publication” on your portalry to launch Substack. Use this checklist to give them a smooth landing every time.
Portalry recognises both substack.com publications and custom domains powered by Substack.
What Portalry handles for you
- Detects standard publication URLs like https://yourname.substack.com.
- Also detects custom domains when metadata includes Substack signals (title, image CDN, and publication description text).
- Uses the publication title as the portal name and falls back to the URL slug when needed.
Setup checklist
- Copy your publication URL (for example, https://frankmerenda.substack.com or https://www.a16z.news).
- Paste it into Portalry and verify the publication name and image are correct.
- If you publish on a custom domain, keep Substack metadata enabled so Portalry can recognise the link.
What still lives in the platform
- Portalry cannot manage subscriptions, paywalls, or publication settings—those remain in Substack.
- Comments, subscriber data, and analytics stay inside Substack.
Extras & best practices
- Link directly to your publication homepage to keep one stable destination for recurring reminders.
